Educational Scholarship

The Pastor Josiah Kayode Joseph and Mother Superior Mabel Olufunke Owodunni Educational Scholarship is a non-repayable, tuition only, scholarship inaugurated in memory of the founders of the Celestial Church of Christ Oluwaseyi International Headquarters and in recognition of their lifetime charitable works in God’s vineyard.

The Scholarship is awarded to deserving and brilliant undergraduate students for the duration of their University Education.

Scholarship Details

  • Type of Award: Undergraduate University Education

  • Value of Award: Covers tuition only up to a maximum of N150,000 per annum (subject to periodic review) over the course of four years.

  • Number of Awards: One award per annum, alternating between Celestial Church of Christ (Oluwaseyi) members and selected Charity Homes.

  • Method of Application: Submission of your online application form which will be available from November 15 to December 31. All applications must be submitted on or before December 31st. Applications received after December 31st will be automatically disqualified.

  • Interview: Shortlisted applicants will be notified by telephone, email, or letter of their interview dates and times. All interviews shall be conducted between January 14 and January 31, 2023.

Eligibiltiy

  1. Applicants must be first-year applicants between 16 and 22 years of age.

  2. Applicants must be members of the Celestial Church of Christ (Oluwaseyi) or students/wards of the Charitable Homes supported by the Celestial Church of Christ (Oluwaseyi)

  3. Applicants must have maintained good grades (3.0 GPA/ 75%/ B- grade).

  4. Applicants must have maintained a minimum of 5 subjects at high school level grade B and above including Math and English.

  5. Applicants must have achieved a JAMB cut-off score of at least 200.

  6. Applicants must have secured admission at a relevant public University (or other approved University).

  7. Applicants must be able to demonstrate financial need.

For Church Applicants only

  1. Applicants must demonstrate a good Church attendance record.

  2. Applicants must play some specific roles in any church department.

  3. Applicants must have demonstrated exemplary leadership within the Sunday School or Youth Fellowship.

Application Criteria

  1. Applicants must complete and submit an Application Form.

  2. Applicants must submit the most recent 2 years' report cards.

  3. Applicants must submit 2 Written Essays with a maximum of 1,200 words each. The topics – The Importance of University Education and Why I Chose My Course of Study.

  4. Applicants must submit University Admission Letter.

  5. Applicants must submit 3 Recommendation Letters: 1 from a Church Leader; and 2 from your High School Teachers.

  6. If shortlisted, applicants must Interview with the Church Scholarship Review Committee.
